The petitioner has sought direction for the release of the frozen sperm of their son kept in the In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) lab in Delhi's Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. Their son died of cancer in September 2020. They had approached the hospital but it refused to release it stating that there are no instructions from the government. It can release the same on the direction of the court.
New Delhi [India], September 26 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Monday issued notices to the Centre and others on Public Interest Litigation challenging the vires of the Surrogacy act, 2021 and the Assisted Reproductive Technology Act, 2021.
New Delhi [India], May 26 (ANI): A petition has been moved in the Delhi High court challenging provisions of the Surrogacy Act and the Assisted Reproductive Technology Act on the ground that the laws are discriminatory against a single man desirous of being a father through surrogacy and a married woman who already has a child and is desirous of expanding her family through the means of surrogacy.
