New Delhi Feb 21 PTI The national capital witnessed a warm day with the maximum temperature settling two notches above normal at 264 degrees celsius according to Met officialsThe minimum temperature was recorded at 101 degrees celsius which is one notch below the seasons averageThe overall air quality index AQI in the national capital stood at 149 in the moderate category on Monday evening according to the latest estimates of the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research SAFAR The humidity level in the city oscillated between 97 per cent and 23 per cent as per the India Meteorological Department In Delhi the levels of PM 25 and PM 10 were 149 and 136 -- both in the moderate categoryThe IMD has forecast partly cloudy sky with strong surface winds of speed 30-40 Kmph for TuesdayDuring the day the maximum temperature is expected to be around 26 and 11 degrees Celsius according to the IMD forecastThe IMD has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds at isolated places in Punjab Haryana Chandigarh and DelhiAn AQI between zero and 50 is considered good 51 and 100 satisfactory 101 and 200 moderate 201 and 300 poor 301 and 400 very poor and 401 and 500 severeFor the next two days the SAFAR said that the AQI is expected to improve to lower end of moderate or satisfactory due to relatively high temperature and wind speed causing strong ventilationFrom March 24 the IMD said onwards low wind speeds are likely to degrade air quality gradually to poor PTI VA GJS RHL
