A curative petition filed by Roots, a Kashmiri Pandit-based NGO was dismissed by the Supreme Court on Thursday. The petition sought a probe into the killing of Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley in 1989-90, during the heights of militancy.
Taking to her Instagram handle, the actor, who also bank-rolled 'The Tashkent Files', posted, "For decades, the international community remained silent on the sufferings of the Kashmiri Pandit Community. After 3 decades, the Indian film industry finally realised that it needs to tell India's story truthfully and objectively."
A practising lawyer of the Supreme Court on Tuesday filed a complaint against International Film Festival of India (IFFI) Jury Head Nadav Lapid with Goa Police for allegedly abusing Hindu community sacrifice made in Kashmir by calling the movie 'The Kashmir Files as a 'vulgar' and 'propaganda'.
