TikTok is expanding and planning to become bigger and go beyond being just a mobile app. Here’s all about TikTok Live Studio.
What is TikTok Live Studio?
The popular social media app is testing a new desktop streaming software known as TikTok Live Studio. With this new application, users can start broadcasting live footage from desktop games and applications directly. Currently, according to TikTok, the software is being tested by a small target group across some western markets.
TikTok Live Studio, once released can change TikTok’s live streaming strategy. Instead of focusing on users who stream directly from their mobiles, the new feature includes game streaming. The app will soon bring the firm to compete with YouTube Gaming, Twitch, and Facebook gaming.
More about the PC streaming service
The screenshots of Live Studio were first shared by Zach Bussey, a reporter covering streamer news on Twitter. As per the reports, the application is currently in its barebones. It will be supporting streaming in both portrait and landscape mode, allowing drawing footage from games, mobile devices and, cameras. Moreover, apart from general screen share it also allows streaming individual programs.
Until now, streaming desktop devices on TikTok was only possible using Streamlabs ad other similar software. There are several tutorials available online that provide instructions on how to use third-party streaming apps to stream on TikTok. Additionally, as of July 2021, “TikTok streaming is currently disabled for most users”. However, it is still not clear when TikTok will be expanding its test audience. Right now, the service is limited and invite-only. The availability of desktop streaming can help in bringing many more users to the platform’s live content catalog.
