Vijander Gupta the only BJP MLA to attend swearing-in ceremony, only to call arrangements of the ceremony “inadequate”
New Delhi: All BJP MLAs except for Rohini legislator Vijander Gupta didn’t prefer to miss the swearing in ceremony of Arvind Kejriwal at Ramlila Maidan on Sunday. Gupta claimed that he attended the ceremony as a part of his “moral duty” but later found the arrangements “inadequate”

In a tweet posted after the ceremony, Gupta alleged he didn’t get a seat to be seated in the ceremony.

In a tweet posted after the ceremony, Gupta alleged he didn’t get a seat to be seated in the ceremony. The grand swearing-in ceremony was organized at the cost of 2 crore rupees became a political event of Aam Admi Party. I was the only member who came to the oath taking considering moral responsibility. Neither got a seat neither parking Reached my car parked at Minto Bridge with the help of @DelhiPolice,”he tweeted in Hindi. He also posted photos of him sitting in a Delhi Police van.
Several Twitter users, however, countered his claims by posting a photo in which Gupta could be seen sitting in the front row a few seats away from Arvind Kejriwal’s, family members and former Delhi speaker Ram Niwas Goel and AAP MP Bhagwant Mann.
Rohtas Nagar MLA Jitender Mahajan said he had taken the stand of not going to the ceremony against AAP’s “diktat” for school teachers. “People didn’t go to the swearing-in on their own, but were forced to do so I don’t like to be part of a programme where the rights of an individual are violated” he added
Mohan Singh Bisht, the legislator from Karawal Nagar complained that he didn’t get proper invitation from the government.” We always got respect when Shiela Dikshit was chief minister,” he added
The newly formed Delhi cabinet headed by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal is likely to join to work on Monday. The cabinet will decide when to convene the session of Delhi Assembly where the newly elected MLAs will take oath
