The Court asked ED, “Why haven’t you arrested Jacqueline yet despite issuing a LOC? Other accused are in jail. Why adopt a pick-and-choose policy?”
Mumbai: Actor Jacqueline Fernandez can escape the country easily as she has a lot of money said Enforcement Directorate in the court. ED was arguing against bail for her over charges linked to a ₹ 200 crore extortion case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar.
The court questioned why has Jacqueline not been arrested so far.
The Court asked ED, “Why haven’t you arrested Jacqueline yet despite issuing a LOC? Other accused are in jail. Why adopt a pick-and-choose policy?”
Regarding the bail request of Jacqueline, the court will take a decision tomorrow. She was granted interim bail earlier.
The Enforcement Directorate’s main justification against bailing out the actor was that she sought to flee the country, refused to help in the investigation, and faced serious allegations.
“We have not seen ₹ 50 lakh in cash in our entire life but Jacqueline frittered away ₹ 7.14 crore for fun. She has tried every trick in the book to try and escape because she has enough money,” the Enforcement Directorate argued.

In the extortion case, ED has filed chargesheet against Sukesh Chandrashekhar and Jacqueline has been named as an accused. She is accused of receiving expensive gifts from Sukesh Chandrashekar, who extorted crores from celebrities and businessmen.
The actor said she received gifts like luxury cars, Gucci and Chanel bags, Gucci gym wear, Louis Vuitton shoes, and jewelry. She also admitted that Sukesh Chandrasekhar had arranged private jet trips and hotel stays for her.
Sukesh Chandrashekhar, who has been imprisoned in Delhi since 2017, is accused of defrauding many people, including former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh’s wife Aditi Singh.
