5 Times TV Shows Witnessed Some ‘Mangalsutra’ Drama Like Seen In Kundali Bhagya, KRMKB

Weddings and engagements are very common on TV shows. In every few episodes, some members of the cast either get married or separated. A lot of importance is given to a lot of rituals in a wedding. Sindoor and managlsutra are of utmost importance in a marriage, especially for women. Zee beauties have, over the years, wore some stunning mangalsutras and looked absolutely stunning in them. But, other than their looks, managsutras have actually caused a lot of drama on shows as well! Take a look at some of them:

Kundali Bhagya

When Prithvi (Sanjay Gagnani) and Preeta’s (Shraddha Arya) marriage was fixed and Rishabh (Manit Joura) and Sherlyn (Ruhi Chaturvedi) too were to get married, Karan (Dheeraj Dhoopar) and Preeta were against both these alliances. Well, actually Karan was against Preeta-Prithvi’s and Preeta and Karan, both were against Rishabh and Sherlyn’s nuptials. They had discovered that Sherlyn was not who she made out to be and was having a secret affair with someone. And Karan suspected Prithvi the moment he laid his eyes on him. But when the two families decided to go mangalsutra shopping, Preeta could not make up her mind.

Karan on the other hand found a mangalsutra he liked and tried to tie it around Preeta. She stopped him after freaking out because they were not married. She scolded him for being out of his mind. Karan felt bad but he still went on to tie the mangalsutra around her because of his jealousy and possessiveness. He did not want Prithvi to do it! Preeta was shocked and was left fuming in anger!

Kumkum Bhagya

There have been numerous instances in Kumkum Bhagya when fate has brought Abhi (Shabir Ahluwalia) and Pragya (Sriti Jha) closer even when they were separated for so many years. And some of these instances have happened ‘cos of these mangalsutras. In one episode, Tanu (Leena Jumani) wanted Abhi to tie a mangalsutra around her neck. They were at a jewellery store and Abhi hesitated. He does not want to tie the mangalsutra around anyone else’s neck because he believes in the sanctity of marriage and the importance of that thread. Pragya, meanwhile, was in the same store, but on the ground floor, right below them. As Abhi moves slowly towards Tanu with the thread in his hand, he slips and the mangalsutra falls upon Pragya’s neck as if it was their bhagya! This leaves Tanu furious and Abhi and Pragya in shock!

Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti

Back when  Samaira (Sapna Thakur) and Kuldeep (Siddhanth Vir Suryavanshi) were trying to impress a client, Mr Rajadyaksh, they decided to pretend to be husband and wife. Shubhra (Neha Marda) was asked to convince Rishi and Roli to act like they were not hers but Kuldeep and Samaira’s children. When Shubhra was helping decorate the house for this guest, she needed help getting down from a ladder and Kuldeep helped her. But Shubhra’s mangalsutra got stuck in Kuldeep’s shirt. Samaira saw this and decided to ask Shubhra for her mangalsutra as well! Shubhra was appalled and deeply hurt. When she tried to remove her mangalsutra for Samaira, the whole thing broke and the beads fell off. Dramatic, no?

Tujhse Hai Raabta

Earlier in the show when Anupriya (Poorva Gokhale) was tired of hearing people’s judgments on her character, she decided to take a big step. She had not been wearing a mangalsutra for a while but decided to wear one again so that people would stop questioning her character. This happened ‘cos she was very badly insulted by Sampada and Akshat at college. She thinks that her mangalsutra is her identity and ponders over wearing it again! But, Kalyani (Reem Shaikh) swoops in at the right moment and stops her from wearing it. She wants her Aai to stand and face this problem and not give in to easy the way out!

Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega

AJ (Nishant Singh Malkhani) and Guddan (Kanika Mann) got married under unique circumstances. Rawat was blackmailing her and hence the marriage took place. When Antara’s murder mystery was solved and Rawat was punished, things seemed to be well for the family. But then Akshat decided that now that the whole thing is over, he should set Guddan free. Guddan, along with others, fought for Akshat and worked hard to get him out of jail. Now that he was out he decided to snatch Guddan’s mangalsutra, leaving everyone shocked, especially Guddan. He told her that he wanted to end this unwanted relation and that she is free now!
