Rakul Preet Singh had a difficult few months around the time the Sushant Singh Rajput case emerged. The Narcotics Control Bureau had questioned a series of actors around the case to look into the issue of drug abuse in the industry. Rakul Preet Singh’s name had popped up in the case even though she was not involved in the drug case. However, the Indian media escalated the matters unnecessarily which put the actor in a tricky spot. Rakul Preet Singh even approached the Delhi High Court against the false accusations and the court has now made a movement in the actor’s favour. They have asked the media to present valid proof for their actions and has also given them a fixed time to respond.

The Delhi High Court recently made movements in favour of actor Rakul Preet Singh in her case against the media. The matter escalated when a series of Bollywood actors including Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, and Deepika Padukone were called in by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for questioning in the drug abuse case. Even though Rakul Preet Singh’s name was not involved in the case, she was called in for questioning since the Indian media speculated that she had a role to play. A few organizations even claimed to have proof against the actor which created a false narrative amongst the people.

The Delhi High Court has now asked the News Broadcasting Standards Authority to present proof for their accusations. The court has demanded an explanation from every news agency which included Rakul Preet Singh’s name in the case.

Actors like Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal, Bharti Singh, and Sara Ali Khan, amongst others, were also called in by the NCB to investigate the drug abuse case. The media had been quite active around this time and were also criticized for scrutinizing the case intently.
