Farhan Akhtar Starrer Toofan Gets A Release Date, To Release On OTT

Farhan Akhtar’s much-awaited film Toofan finally gets a release date. Skipping a theatrical release, Toofan will be exclusively premiering on Amazon Prime Video on May 21, 2021. Amid the pandemic, the film was pushed ahead for release several times. And now with the news of its release, the audience is quite excited. Toofan will mark Farhan and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s second collaboration after the big hit Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.

Sharing the news of the film’s release date, Farhaan took to his Instagram handle and shared a new poster. The actor wrote, “Toofaan hoon chhotey tera mausam bigaad doonga. Teaser out on 12th March at 12pm #ToofaanOnPrime World premiere, May 21”

Earlier, in an interview, Mehra had revealed that he was highly impressed with Farhaan’s dedication in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. And hence he feels that Farhan is the best choice he could’ve made for a protagonist in Toofan. Talking more about the project, Mehra stated that Toofan will inspire everyone to get out of their “comfort zones” and fight hard to achieve their dreams.

For those unaware, the film was earlier scheduled to have a theatrical release in October 2020 but was postponed due to the Covid-19 restrictions. Farhan will be portraying the role of a boxer and from the posters, we can say that he’s completely immersed in his character. The actor was last seen in the 2019 film The Sky Is Pink alongside Priyanka Chopra and Zaira Wasim. The film received mixed reviews from critics.

Coming back to Toofan, the film will also feature Mrunal Thakur, Isha Talwar, and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles.
