Makers of ‘Pushpa The Rise present’ the new face of evil in Sunil

Evil has a new face and it spells broadly Mangalam Srinu from the upcoming Tollywood flick Pushpa The Rise, Part 1 aka Pushpa. Essayed by actor Sunil, his reel character brings out the eerie side of an onscreen villain. Industry watchers aver Sunil has taken a different avatar for this role as Mangalam Srinu.

Dressed in a silk shirt with gold chains dangling around his neck, the actor with his piercing eyes looks menacing. Sunil plays a central character – albeit with a darker shade in Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa. The first look of Sunil that the makers released on Sunday has also heightened viewers expectations from the film.

The makers have hinted that while Sunil with his tanned dusky skin tone will give Allu Arjun all the headaches in the first half of the film, Fahadh Faasil will take over from where Sunil stops, in the second half.

This tough makeover of Sunil comes as a pleasant surprise to the industry watchers who have seen the gentle and comic side of the actor in his earlier roles.

Incidentally, the makers did drop broad hints about a total overhaul of Sunil’s appearance in this movie with a tweet from the movie’s official handle @PushpaMovie a day earlier with the words – Set yourselves up for the unexpected. Introducing @Mee_Sunil as #MangalamSrinu tomorrow at 10:08 AM.

And the look did not disappoint either, especially the fans of Sunil, who surely are delighted that their hero can display the darker emotion of human life when the situation ‘reely’ demands it. Scheduled for a theatrical release on December 17, Pushpa will also see Sandalwood actors Rashmika Mandanna and Dhananjaya share important screen space with Allu Arjun.

With Mythri Movie Makers bankrolling this project, Devi Sri Prasad has scored the music, Karthika Srinivas has edited the stunning visuals that Miroslaw Kuba Brozek has captured for the audience. The makers have also gradually built up the tempo for the movie with planned releases of updates including the latest one featuring Sunil, with videos of songs and action cuts.
