Nushrratt Bharuccha’s upcoming character in her film is a pregnant woman. However, she wouldn’t be able to ace her role as well as she did in her trailer if she didn’t understand how did a pregnant woman do all things.
From the smallest thing of walking to doing dishes to other things, Nushrratt Bharuccha wanted to understand her character well so she decided to wear the pregnancy bodysuit 25 days before the actual shoot schedule began.
Speaking of the same she said As she’s not going to become pregnant for now in reality, she had them make that bodysuit for her to feel what a woman bearing child goes through. She was wearing it 20-25 days before the film’s shoot started and did all of her chores including eating, sleeping, going to the bathroom, roaming around, and everything else to understand the restrictions that it comes with. She had to put herself in it to be able to self-learn everything related to pregnancy, and then bring them on set with a more realistic facet that the masses can connect to. Though it wasn’t a prop for her but a part of me, she became so used to it that when the shooting began, she felt more comfortable while resting in between the rehearsals in the bodysuit.
Stressing on the need to make her performance look subtle, she said Since they’ve moved to a very realistic cinema, they don’t need to spoonfeed things to the audience. It needs to be so subtle and subliminal that the audience at a subconscious level is convinced to assume you’re pregnant without you telling them through conventional actions. It’s been a little tough to adjust with the bodysuit while sleeping or going to the bathroom or while doing mid-squats, but above all, every woman has a different pregnancy, and sometimes it’s difficult to carry it along with you.
Her upcoming film will be released in the digital space from November 26.
