Veteran actor Rajiv Kapoor’s death came as a shock to a huge part of the audience and various Bollywood celebrities. Many actors, directors, and other artists flooded social media with condolence messages for the Kapoor family over their immense loss. A bunch of celebrities were also present at the final rites and funeral which was held at his bungalow in Chembur. Alia Bhatt was also present at the funeral and she had reportedly travelled to the bungalow directly from the airport. Ranbir Kapoor also arrived in his private vehicle alongside his sister Ridhima Kapoor Sahni as they were quite close to their uncle. The Kapoor family also decide to not hold a Chautha ceremony due to the ongoing pandemic and restrictions on the gathering of large crowds.

Rajiv Kapoor passed away at the age of 58 in Chembur, after suffering from a severe cardiac arrest on February 9. The youngest brother of the Kapoor family was well-known amongst the fans for his work in the film Ram Teri Ganga Maili. Even though he did not have a long career in Bollywood, he was immensely liked by his co-stars and fans for his humility and rational attitude. The last rites were held on the same day and various actors paid their last respects at his mansion in Chembur.

Alia Bhatt was one of the many celebrities who attended the ceremony alongside her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor. She directly arrived at the mansion from the airport as she was not in the city for quite some time. The actor was out on a vacation with her girl pals and decided to return as soon as possible after hearing the news. Alia was seen wearing a simple white salwar kameez while her hair was tied in a low-bun. The much-loved star was also wearing a black facemask to keep herself protected. Other actors and family members like Karisma Kapoor, Tara Sutaria, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Raza Murad and Aadar Jain were also present.
