Bheed: Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha Ropes In Bhumi Pednekar As Female Lead Alongside Rajkummar Rao – Reports

A few days ago, filmmaker Anubhav Sinha announced his next film titled Bheed. The film is a social drama starring National Award-winning actor Rajkummar Rao. Bheed is jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar’s music company and Anubhav Sinha’s entertainment company. The film will be shot across Lucknow. It is expected to go on floors in November as the unit continues its pre-production for the next few weeks.

Now according to the latest reports of a leading daily, Bhumi Pednekar will team up with writer-filmmaker Anubhav Sinha for his next venture, titled Bheed. She will share the screen space with Rajkummar Rao in the film. Bheed is again a social drama by Anubhav Sinha just like his previous productions like Thappad, Article 15, and Mulk. Anubhav has wrapped up Anek with Ayushmann Khurrana during the lockdown. The filmmaker was recently seen in Lucknow with his team for scouting locations for the shoot that commences in the coming days.

The actors will join the team sometime post Diwali. Bhumi Pednekar, who has wrapped up the shooting of Raksha Bandhan with Akshay Kumar, will be teaming up with Rajkummar as his leading lady for the second time after Badhaai Do. It was a sequel to the 2018 National Award-winning film Badhaai Ho. When Anubhav Sinha was asked for a confirmation by a leading daily, he didn’t respond to the queries till they went to press.

If the reports are said to be true then Bheed will mark Bhumi’s first collaboration with Anubhav Sinha. The filmmaker has been occupied with the post-production work on Anek and the pre-production on Bheed. Earlier, Anubhav while talking about the film said that Bheed is one of those titles that the whole team jumps at the moment you propose it. Talking about roping in Rajkummar for the lead role, the director said that for him casting was crucial. He also added Raj is a very intriguing actor. He is one of the very few actors who can be so successfully transparent in a story. There always was a keen desire to work with him and he is looking forward to it.
