Bollywood Trivia: 80s Actress Archana Joglekar Is a Dance Teacher In New Jersey Today

Archana Joglekar is an Indian actress who was a popular face in Bollywood in the ’80s. She was known for her work in both the television and movie industries. Apart from television serials, Archana had worked in Odia, Marathi and Hindi films as well. Here’s a look at Archana’s Bollywood journey and what she is doing now.

Archana got recognition from the film Sansar. She has worked in TV serials like Chalab, Karmabhoomi, Phoolwanti, and Kissa Shanti Ka. There were a lot of controversies associated with the actress. In 1997, a horrifying incident took place with the actress when she was shooting in Odisha. A man allegedly tried to rape her. He was arrested by the police and was later sentenced to 18 months of imprisonment by the Bhubaneshwar Fast Track Court.

Archana Joglekar was also known for her dancing skills. She is a trained Kathak dancer. Her mother Astha Joglekar taught her the dance form and then she opened her own dance classes in Mumbai. Later, she got married and moved to New Jersey. There she started her own dance classes called Archana Nrityalay.

The actress celebrates her birthday on March 1. Some of her noted films are Sansaar (Hindi), Eka Peksha Ek (Marathi), and Anapekshit (Marathi). Archana in an interview mentioned that she is away from movies but she misses films. However, now she wants to don the director’s hat in the movies. She also mentioned that she would love to direct Alia Bhatt in future.
