With the release of ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ to favorable response, Rani Mukerji, who reprises her role of Vimmy in the sequel to the original film in which she co-starred with Abhishek Bachchan, recalled an incident from the shoot. She recalled continuing to work for the portion amidst a pretty awful knee injury.
It happened while the actress was recording the song ‘Dhik Chik,’ which she did while being in excruciating pain. She was unaware of the severity of her condition at the time, which she only recently disclosed. Mukerji described her experience as follows: “Because of the cartilage rupture in one of my knees, I was in tremendous pain. I was in excruciating pain when I filmed for ‘Dhik Chik,’ but I had no clue what the damage was. I didn’t realize I had a rupture in my cartilage until after the shooting, when I obtained an MRI, that I needed to rest my leg for at least three months to allow it to recover correctly.”
Mukerji went on to say that an actor’s work requires her to forget about everything and focus solely on producing a performance. She continued”, “It’s a significant film for me, all of the actors, the director, and all of the investors. I’ve never let such incidents distract me from my larger goal of supporting my movies and other actors.
Mukerji praised the ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ team, saying they have been promoting the film “without taking a rest” around the clock. She continued saying that the show must go on. “Artists are supposed to entertain, not reveal what they are going through in their personal life. For my film, I’m doing exactly that.”
