Flashback Friday: Celebrating 13 Years Of Om Shanti Om With Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone And Farah

Om Shanti Om recently completed 13 years of its release. The movie marked the debut of one of Bollywood’s most celebrated actresses, Deepika Padukone. She starred alongside Shahrukh Khan. Om Shanti Om was helmed by Farah Khan. On the occasion of the movie completing 13 years, here are some interesting things that Om Shanti Om cast spoke about the movie and their experiences during the shoot.

In the video, Shahrukh Khan spoke about director Farah Khan that while making the movie she thought that she should utilise the chance of making a good film as she may or may not get this chance again. Shahrukh also added that after every movie Farah Khan feels the same. Arjun Rampal who played the role of villain in Om Shanti Om hailed Farah Khan and said that when she takes a shot, it feels like never before. Farah Khan mentioned that one should always make a movie as if they wouldn’t be making a movie again.

Shahrukh Khan talked about the movie and said that people say they have kept physical appearance in the focus of their film. But they want to clarify to people that filmmaking is not difficult and as an actor, he doesn’t want to say Marlon Brando did it but for sure in the 70s, he didn’t look the way he was portrayed in the movie, he said. So to show a difference in his appearance from the 70s to 2007, he has made a slight change in his looks.

Om Shanti Om became the highest-grossing film in 2007. The leading lady of Om Shanti Om, Deepika Padukone also bagged the Filmfare Award for the Best Female Debut for her portrayal. At the 53rd Filmfare Awards, Om Shanti Om received 12 nominations and also bagged the award for Best Special Effects and National Film Award for Best Production Design.

Deepika Padukone celebrated the memories of her character Shantipriya by changing her social media name as Om Shanti Om marked 13 years of its release. She also shared some stills from the movie to reminisce about her grand entry in the world of cinema. Deepika Padukone earned a lot of praise for her portrayal and after that, she was cast in several movies alongside Shahrukh Khan.
