Boman Irani displayed his versatility again by playing Priyanka Chopra’s homosexual boss in ‘Dostana.’ He nailed the character of Murli and held the audience’s attention till the very end. He was also nominated for best actor in a comedy role at the Producers Guild Film Awards.

3 Idiots
The 2009 Hindi comedy-drama film was a huge success with the general public. Boman  Irani’s performance in the film was also well received. He played the part of a college director who adheres to an outdated teaching technique. He played the character with a lot of negative hues, but he eventually reforms himself. His performance was well-received by the audience, and he went on to win a Filmfare award for best-supporting actor.

Lage Raho Munna Bhai
This franchise, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, became Irani’s claim to fame. In Munna Bhai MBBS, he played Dr. JC Asthana, and in Lage Raho Munna Bhai, he played Lakhbir ‘Lucky’ Singh. Boman Irani spent a significant amount of time with Sikhs at auto spare part stores in Mumbai to get into character. He made a place for himself by playing a dishonest doctor who was at odds with Munna.

Boman Irani plays a shrewd lawyer who seeks to win every case by any means necessary. Boman Irani was so genuine and fierce in his portrayal of a cunning lawyer that a court debate between him and Saurabh Shukla, who played the judge, appeared to be real in one of the moments.

Boman Irani went on to play an earnest police officer who is completely dedicated to his job (DCP D’Silva) and a cunning lieutenant of a deceased drug cartel leader (Vardhaan) in the Don series. The two parts were diametrically opposed, yet Boman Irani played both with such ease that the audience was left in awe of his talent.
