Jamuna Dhaki: 5 times Kedar Ray and Jamuna’s interactions stood as a testimony of their playful equation

Zee Bangla’s popular serial Jamuna Dhaki stars Sweta Bhattacharya as Jamuna and Rubel Das as Sangeet in the lead roles. Initially, Sangeet’s father Kedar Ray was against Jamuna and Sangeet’s relationship and had tried numerous times to throw her out of the Ray household. But with time, Kedar has warmed up to Jamuna and has started trusting her a lot. They have a very sweet relationship, where they are often seen engaged in playful banter. Here are times when their banter reminded us of our relationship with our father.

When Jamuna forced Kedar to eat his food

In one of the episodes, Kedar gets angry and refuses to eat his food. Jamuna, along with Chhaya, goes to Kedar’s room and asks him to eat but Kedar remains adamant and refuses. This starts a banter between the two. Jamuna says that if Kedar refuses to eat Anuradha will not eat and then the whole Ray family will not eat. Kedar reverts by saying that he can take care of himself and nobody should worry about him. When Jamuna sees that it will be hard to convince Kedar, she starts naming different dishes that are his favourite. In this cute exchange, Jamuna and Kedar behave exactly like a father-daughter duo.

When Kedar couldn’t find his panjabi

One day Jamuna leaves the Ray family and goes to her own house because she thinks that Sangeet has cheated on her. A few days later in Ray household, Kedar cannot find his panjabi anywhere in the house and when he asks Anuradha about it, she says that only Jamuna knows where everyone’s clothes are kept. Although Kedar looks for another option, calling Jamuna seems to be the only way. When he calls her, she laughs at his condition and mocks him by mimicking exactly how he must be dressed at the moment and must be shouting at everyone for his panjabi. She then tells him where his clothes are. Kedar scolds her for laughing at him but then thanks her for helping him.

When Jamuna scolded Kedar for not taking his medicines

In another episode, Kedar can be seen shouting at his family members for arranging Jamuna and Sangeet’s wedding for the second time. Jamuna comes in at the right time and reminds him that his blood pressure is quite high, so he should not get worked up. Kedar reverts by saying that nobody in the house should worry about him as he can very well take care of himself. Jamuna says she is worried about the family member’s welfare as with the increased blood pressure, the brunt of his anger is borne by the Ray family. Before the fight gets worse, Sangeet steps in and saves the day.

When Jamuna forced Kedar to play Dol

On the day of Dol, all the family members of Ray family get rest early in the morning to spend the day playing with colours. When everyone goes to Kedar and Anuradha’s room to ask them to join in, they see that Kedar is still in bed, asleep. Everyone starts singing songs related to Dol in order to wake him up and encourage him to participate. Kedar says that he wants to sleep and that he should be left alone. Jamuna in return says that he shouldn’t make excuses and join them all like a ‘good boy’. This irritates Kedar and another round of banter starts between the two.

When Kedar decided to fulfill Jamuna’s wish

Jamuna assures Ragini and Prasanto that they will get a factory from Kedar, as part of their share of the family property. Hence, Kedar decides to give Ragini the factory. He says that he is doing so because she is the daughter-in-law of a respected gentleman. He also adds that he does not expect anyone to praise him for his charity and his kind heart. Jamuna says that she will definitely not do so as he is not her real father-in-law. This puzzles Kedar and Jamuna continue to say that she will only say so when he accepts her as his own daughter-in-law. This scene not only makes us laugh but also makes us emotional at the bond Jamuna and Kedar have achieved after such a long time.
