Amidst all the teachings of ‘dharma and adharma’, here are other vital life lessons that Mahabharat taught us. Have a look.

Mahabharat is a Hindu epic that was written ages ago and the legendary tale was then adapted in every form of art. Mahabharat was digitally developed into a television series Ek Aur Mahabharat by Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi and was telecasted on Zee TV in 1997. This mythological tale has taught several life lessons from understanding how bad company affects a person’s life to how determination and dedication are important in life. As you get ready to witness #MahabharatOnZeeTV one more time, here are some life lessons that you can learn from it.

Bad company does no good

Getting influenced and taking a decision instead of giving a thought about what’s right and wrong can ruin everything and Shakuni Mama proved it. He always influenced Kauravas to do all the wrong deeds and kept adding fuel to the fire.

Unconditional support and loyal friends can take you places

Friendship is extremely important in everyone’s lives. Be it Pandavas who had Lord Krishna or the Kauravas who had Karna, good friendship will definitely take you a long way. If you are surrounded by loyal and dutiful friends, they will only help you in achieving your goals and will stand by your side, no matter what.

Stand by what’s right, even fight for it

Arjun was initially reluctant to fight a war against his own blood. But Lord Krishna gave him his teaching and made him realize that one has to stand by Dharma (duty), even it means going against one’s own family. It was then that Arjun decided to fulfill his responsibility as a great warrior for his Dharma.

Half knowledge can be dangerous

Abhimanyu, Arjun’s son gave us teachings of how half-knowledge can be dangerous. Abhimanyu knew how to enter the Chakravyuh but he didn’t know how to get out of it. Even as he kept trying, he couldn’t succeed in getting out of it and was eventually killed by the Kauravas.

You need to fight for what you think belongs to you

The Pandavas were always adamant to have what rightfully belonged to them. Their courage and determination are definitely something to admire and learn from.

Your passion will make you the strongest

We all know that Arjun was the greatest archer in the world. However, Eklavya was believed to be better than him. He hid behind the trees and learned everything that Dronacharya taught Arjun. It was his passion for archery and hunger for knowledge that made him excel in archery.

Planning never goes in vain

Krishna was the mastermind for the Pandavas. He guided them during the war and mentored them as a good teacher would. His teachings during the war helped Pandavas claim victory in the end.

Be a woman of determination

After Draupadi’s ‘vastra haran’, she vowed to seek revenge from the Kauravas. In fact, it is believed that this incident was a major reason why the battle of Mahabharat took place. Draupadi was a fierce lady, a dutiful wife and a strong mother. A woman like Draupadi will not be passive, she will be fiery and she will fight for herself.
