What an experience would it be to witness the life journey of our beloved Kaka on the big screens. Nikhil Dwivedi has recently acquired the rights of Rajesh Khanna’s biography and is in talks with a director to make a film based on it

Some people make such a mark in the world, that it’s highly impossible to forget them. Such was the personality and stardom of the late actor Rajesh Khanna. Dubbed as Kaka by his fans he was the first actor of Bollywood for whom the term superstar was coined. He started the legacy and it still is continuing.

Anand, Aradhana, Kati Patang, Sachaa Jhutha, and Ajnabee are just a handful of the actor’s memorable films in Indian cinema.
Nikhil Dwivedi, a producer, and an actor has acquired the permission to transform Gautam Chintamani’s book Dark Star: The Loneliness of Being Rajesh Khanna into a film, which would be a biography on the nation’s greatest superstar. Farah Khan, a director, has been contacted to helm it, and Gautam is currently working on converting the novel into a script.

Nikhil stated that he enjoyed the novel and that the idea of adapting it into a feature film had lingered with him throughout the years. It accurately illustrates the guy underlying our country’s greatest revered celebrity. There’s a lot of mystery about him. He possessed a majestic demeanour. His profession took a hit, but he quickly recovered. He wasn’t supposed to be in the industry, but he not only entered it, but he also dominated it. He never lost his majestic demeanor during his profession. His persona has several facets, all of which have been perfectly represented in the story. Rajesh Khanna’s life tale should be told much earlier. People who knew him well realized what managed to make him so unique.

Farah went on to say that she, too, had read Gautam’s book and found it captivating. They’re talking about it, but she can’t say anything more. Did the idea of adapting the narrative into a web series ever occur to Nikhil, given that his career spanned generations and he stayed a public presence for the majority of his life? After all, encapsulating a superstar’s voyage in just over two hours is no easy task.
