Rani Rashmoni 13 October 2021 Written Update: Jagadamba and Dwarika Rescue Rupmati Bai

In the previous episode of Rani Rashmoni we see that Nagen calls Rupmati to sing for his friends. However, when she starts singing a devotional song his friends are disappointed. They ask Nagen if he called them over to listen to devotional songs. Rupmati Bai realises that she is in the wrong place and says she would like to leave. But Nagen stops her from leaving. Nagen’s friends then go to Janbazar and tell the other guests that Rupmati Bai is not coming and ask them to leave. Jagadamba stops them and asks them to wait. Ganesh recognises Nagen’s friends and tells Dwarika about it. Meanwhile, Trilokya tells Dwarika that a palanquin was seen entering Nagen house at night.

In the latest episode of Rani Rashmoni, Dwarika decides to go to Nagen’s house with his guards. But Jagadamba stops him and says she will accompany him. However, she says they will have to go in disguise. Jagadamba plans to trick Nagen the same way that he tricked them.

When Dwarika thanks Jagadamba for saving his honour, Jagadamba tells him that she is not protecting his honour, but the honour of the woman who came to sing at their house on their invitation. Jagadamba tells Dwarika that her father and mother would often go out to save the honour of women who were in similar situations.

Jagadamba says she will speak to Nagen. She tells him that she will introduce herself as the queen of Nator. She will then tell Nagen that she has come to take Rupmati Bai with her as she plans to appoint her as her court singer.

She tells Dwarika that since Nagen is a businessman he understands only give and take. She will therefore offer him money in exchange for Rupmati Bai. She tells Dwarika that while she is talking to Nagen Dwarika must send his guards inside the house and rescue Rupmati Bai.

When Jagadamba says she will not pay anything to Nagen, Dwarika asks her why she got a bag full of gold coins. Jagadamba then tells Dwarika that the gold coins she got with her only look like gold. They are in fact made of clay. She tells him that Rani had made many coins of this kind to rescue women from people like Nagen.

While Nagen’s friends tell him that they must call another courtesan singer called Giribala Dasi for their entertainment, Khirod comes and tells him that a queen has come from Nator inquiring about Rupmati Bai. Khirod tells Nagen that the queen will stand behind a bamboo curtain and speak to him.

After the frame with the curtain is set up, Jagadamba meets Nagen and tells him that she knows that he has held Rupmati Bai captive in his house. Nagen says that Rupmati Bai came to sing at his house. Jagadamba then tells him that Rupmati Bai was to go to Janbazzar to give a performance, but her sources have told her that Rupmati Bai never reached there.

Nagen starts fumbling and tells Jagadamba that he did not disrespect Rupamati Bai and paid her a large sum of money. However, Jagadamba threatens to complain against him to the British officers and Nagen agrees to hand over Rupmati Bai to her.

However, he tells Jagadamba that he has spent a lot of money to get her to his house and cannot let her go just like that. Jagadamba then asks Dwarika to hand over 100 gold coins to Nagen in exchange for Rupmati Bai. Nagen says she can leave but he needs to count the coins first before he hands over Rupmati to her treasurer.

Dwarika checks with his men and finds out that Rupmati Bai has already been rescued and seated in a palanquin. He tells his men to leave immediately for Janbazzar with her.
