The story of the show revolves around a murder investigation in the Sunflower Society and the quirky characters that live in it. The star cast includes Sunil Grover, Ranvir Shorey, Mukul Chaddha, Ashish Vidyarthi, Shonali Nagrani, Girish Kulkarni, and Sonal Jha, along with a few fresh faces. Ranvir Shorey plays the role of an honest cop, Sub-inspector Digendra who is hellbent on solving this case. VJ Ranvir Shorey
Ranvir Shorey started his VJing career with some hosting and anchoring gigs in the year 1998 on a few English shows. But it was in the year 2007, that he got the recognition he deserved. Ranvir hosted the talk show, ‘Ranvir Vinay Aur Kaun?’ and ‘The Great Indian Comedy Show’ with his partner Vinay Pathak, which went on to become great successes. Together this duo entertained the audience with their quirky dialogues and perfect comic timing.
Bollywood Debut
Even before he became a successful VJ/anchor on Indian Television, Ranvir had made his debut opposite Manisha Koirala in the 2002 film ‘Ek Chhotisi Love Story’. The movie generated a strong response at the box office and was declared a “hit”. He later featured in the 2003 film, Jism. Although the film was a hit, Ranvir’s role in it was a minor one.
Breakthrough Film
After working in almost 8 – 9 films, Ranvir finally got noticed with his impeccable performance in the 2006 comedy film, Khosla Ka Ghosla. From then it’s been an upward journey for him. He then acted in many critically acclaimed films such as Traffic Signal, No Smoking, Kadvi Hawa and more. The actor didn’t just appear in comedy films such as Happy Ending, Buddha Mar Gaya, but he also made his marker with films like Sonchiriya. In fact, Ranvir was nominated for a Filmfare award for his performance as Vakeel Singh in Sonchiriya.
OTT Journey
Ranvir Shorey stepped into the OTT world in 2018 with his debut series, Rangbaaz. He played that role of ATS Head, Siddharth Pandey with sheer brilliance. Later, he also appeared as a dedicated coach in the 2019 ZEE5 Original titled, Bombers. And now, his journey is coming to a full circle with Sunflower, where he again plays the role of a cop.

Ranvir Shorey will be seen essaying the role of Sub-inspector Digendra who’s the top cop in the Chembur police station. An honest, no-nonsense cop, Digendra has a proven track record of 98% success rate in all his cases. When he’s sent as the investigating officer to the Sunflower society, he’ll do everything that is required to catch the killer.
