Vir Das had posted a video a few days back that spoke about ‘Two Indias’. The actor-comedian had posted the video and it had gone viral on the web. Also, Vir Das was recently nominated for the Emmy Awards and he had shared a photograph of the certificate and the medal that he received. Unfortunately, the actor-comedian was only nominated for the Emmys but did not bring the award home.

However, the actor had shared an appreciation post via his gram and was extremely grateful for being nominated in the Emmy Awards. Vir Das’ controversial video had stirred up the entire nation and now, B-Town actress Richa Chadha has come to defend Vir Das via her latest Tweet.

Vir Das had posted the still of his Emmy Awards nominated certificate and medal. On which a netizen had commented, ‘Someone tried to defame India, will ultimately qualified for such international nominations. Bravo. Ghar ka bhedi.’

Responding to this Richa Chadha had said that in Hindi, “Akhbar padhte ho? (Do you read newspapers?)”. Richa Chadha came in defence of Vir and wrote, “Akhbar padhte ho”. Vir Das had released a statement on Twitter after his ‘I come from Two Indias’ video created a stir.

For the unversed, Vir Das had also received a lot of negative and comments from netizens. They sparked a troll fest on the web and demeaned the comedian for making derogatory comments on India. Netizens complained that every nation has many nominal errors and drawbacks.

Vir Das even shared the video on his YouTube channel and reportedly, the comedian had shot the video from John F Kennedy Centre in Washington DC. A small part from the video, where Vir said, “I come from an India where we worship women during the day and gang-rape them during the night,” became the epicentre of a controversy, followed by a major backlash.
