On Tuesday (August 11), the Enforcement Directorate (ED) recorded the statement of Meetu Singh, the sister of Sushant Singh Rajput, to gather details on the state of the late actor’s finances, deposits in bank accounts, investments, expenditures and whether there was any siphoning of funds or abuse of his credit cards. Rajput’s father Krishna Kishore Singh, in his counter-affidavit to the Supreme Court, to oppose the transfer of Patna Police’s July 25 FIR to Mumbai in order to look into report charges, including of abetment to suicide, stated that it took him 40-odd days to approach the Patna Police as he had been under depression.
After his son’s death, he felt that the Mumbai Police was “derailing the inquiry.” KK Singh’s affidavit stated that he had lost his son, aged 34, on June 14 and had gone into ‘depression” and “on regaining his senses after the mourning period of 40 days was over,” he realised that the police was allegedly “derailing the inquiring and not investigating the criminal offences committed.” He, thereafter, filed a complaint, after which the FIR was registered at the police station nearest to his residence in Patna, Bihar.
