At least 5 individuals of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s extended family were killed in a road crash in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district on Tuesday morning after their car struck a truck on National Highway 333. The family was traveling from Patna, where they had attended the death rites of Geeta Devi, senior Haryana police officer OP Singh’s sister. Sushant Singh Rajput’s brother-in-law, OP Singh.
“It was a big accident between a truck and a Sumo [an SUV] in which ten individuals were coming from Patna,” Lakhisarai superintendent of police (SP) Sushil Kumar said, verifying the disaster near the updated middle school at Pipra under Halsi police station. “Six people were murdered on the scene, including the Sumo’s driver, while four others were wounded and taken to the hospital in serious condition,” he added.
Balmukund Singh and Dil Khush Singh, two of the wounded, have been taken to Patna for medical care, while Balmiki Singh and Tonu Singh have been brought to the Lakhisarai district hospital. The corpses of the deceased were taken to Lakhisarai Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Laljit Singh (OP Singh’s brother-in-law) and his two sons Amit Shekhar alias Nemani Singh and Ram Chandra Singh have been confirmed as the deceased. Baby Devi, Anita Devi, and the driver, Preetam Kumar, were the others. Kumar’s relationship with his family is yet to be established. The family was going home to Bhandar village in Jamui district when their vehicle crashed with a truck going in the opposite direction, according to police.
Sushant Singh Rajput was discovered dead from a ceiling fan at his house in Bandra, Mumbai, on June 14, 2020.
