Within almost ten days of the release of Maestro, the audience has created a buzz on social media regarding the top quality of Tamannaah Bhatia’s role in the movie. Where on one hand, the movie is being loved by the greater audience, Tamannaah Bhatia is enjoying her major share of the praises. It is the first time that the actress has played a negative role on the big screen, and yet, she completely nailed it.
Maestro is a Tamil remake of the Bollywood blockbuster Andhadhun. Despite the fact that major actors like Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu, and Radhika Apte were starred in the original, Tollywood actors Nithiin and Tamannaah Bhatia managed to win hearts with their superb acting.
Speaking of opening character sequences in a movie, the Indian filmmakers have never settled for anything less than grand. Take into account Gabbar in Sholay or Bahubali in and as Bahubali, blazing, orchestra-playing, larger-than-life entries have always been a must. The eloquent sequences in which the characters are introduced speak more to the celebrities themselves which makes the movies more of a means of acquiring fame than narrative. Simran’s character from Maestro (played by Tamannaah Bhatia) showed us one brilliant exception as the introductory sequence.
Tamannaah Bhatia plays the role of Simran in Maestro who is a young glamorous wife of yesterday’s megastar who is way older in age than her. In the introduction sequence, we are introduced to Simran as this wild, bold, and confidant woman. She is seen stepping out of a car, holding an umbrella while it is raining cats and dogs. Tamannaah Bhatia, in this small scene, was able to portray all the characteristics that Simran stands for. She is portrayed as a woman with immense charm and intellect, her dialogues are loaded with subtle antagonist remarks as the plot of the film develops.

As a woman, Simran is unapologetic in her violent skills. In fact, it is extremely refreshing to see a negative female character be this unapologetic, who cares about no one but herself. With this stunning performance by Tamannaah Bhatia, the first time in a negative role, we are sure to expect much more bold and unapologetic characters from her in the future.
