Zoya Akhtar announces New Movie: Deepika Padukone, Shibani Dandekar And Abhishek Bachchan Among Others Laud Director For Her New Venture

Zoya Akhtar is set to bring famous comics to life in a new musical drama set in the 1960s. The film will be a desi take on the Comics. The characters from the comics Betty, Veronica, Archie and Jughead will be adapted in the Indian setting. As soon as Zoya announced her new venture, Bollywood celebrities began rooting for her. From Deepika Padukone, Shibani Dandekar to Abhishek Bachchan, all showered love on her.

In an earlier report, it was said that Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan, Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s younger daughter Khushi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda will make their debut with this Zoya Akhtar’s film. Ibrahim Ali Khan’s name was also associated with it. Zoya shared an interesting comic strip to announce the film. She took to her Instagram account and wrote about her film coming soon.

Taking to the comment section of Zoya’s post, Deepika Padukone dropped a heart eyes emoticon and wrote, “LOVE”. On the other hand, Shibani Dandekar also wrote, “So Cool” as she lauded Zoya. Abhishek Bachchan also went on to shower love on his friend and dropped ‘Hi5’ emojis. Navya Nanda dropped a heart emoticon in the comments. Amrita Arora, Neelam Kothari Soni, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey also reacted and showered love on Zoya Akhtar’s next directorial.

Zoya Akhtar did not announce the cast but only revealed the name of the film. The film announcement also revealed that the film will be directly released on a leading digital platform and not in theatres. The announcement has left fans of the director excited for her next project. And it seems like the Bollywood celebrities are also keen to watch the film. We wonder who all will be the part of this film directed by Zoya.
