Indravadhan meets his grandmother and asks her to stay with him in the Rajmahal. Indravadhan's grandmother replies that her stay at the Rajmahal would not be liked by Rajmata. Later, Indravadhan and his uncle discuss Indravadhan's grandmother becoming homeless. The Englishman present there tells Indravadhan that it is just the outcome of not levying taxes. After the Englishman leaves the place, Indravadhan informs to his mother and uncle that his grandmother is coming to Rajmahal and would be staying with them.
