Ammana Mane is an overwhelming story of a partially-paralyzed boy Rajeeva. Rajeeva is brought up by his doting mother, who is also the guiding force in his life. His mother faces plenty of trouble nurturing and taking care of her son single-handedly. She strives hard to give her son a normal life despite his physical abnormalities. Rajeeva grows up to be a school teacher. He gets married and the couple gives birth to a girl, Shive. 

Rajeeva finds himself at a crossroads when he is torn between his duty toward his mother and toward his wife and daughter. The most beautiful part of the movie is the role reversal it showcases. Ammana Mane Movie Plot

Ammana Mane is a lovely tale of a mother-son relationship. As the story unfolds, comes across a physically-challenged boy Rajeeva. Rajeeva hails from a lower middle-class family and is loved dearly by his mother. The partially-paralyzed boy is abandoned by his father and grows up to be the apple of his mother's eye. The great courage and resilience of his mother help him throughout his life till Rajeeva overcomes all his physical disabilities. 

He grows up to be a school teacher, all healed and recovered, and begins to lead a normal life. Rajeeva gets married and has a daughter, Shive. He yearns to be an ideal citizen, however, life seems to have other plans. Rajeeva finds himself torn between his duty as a son, husband, and father. He faces difficulty when he cannot handle all aspects of his life perfectly. 

The most beautiful and engaging thing about the plot is the part where the role reversal happens. Rajeeva takes care of his ailing mother. The same mother who took care of him all her life and now the son nurtures his mother.

This mother-son tale has a few characters but all of them have done a great job. Raghavendra Rajkumar was seen in this movie after a long hiatus. The actor went deep with this role and felt the pain of the character and beautifully portrays the role of Rajeeva. Many believe that was able to do so because of his health issues and his familiarity with the pain. The other actor in the Ammana Mane cast is Rohini Nagesh, who plays the role of the doting mother. The character suited her and was praised by the audience. The role of the daughter was played by Sheetal Hemanth and she shines through the movie. Manasi Sudhir has a brief role in the movie and plays the character of Rajeeva’s wife.
