A widow in the ashram tells Pishima that Ganga is not a child anymore, she is a widow who is running from the harsh truths of life. The next morning, Ganga wakes up and finds her way to the store room. Ganga sees her bag pack and takes out her coloured saree out of it. Ganga starts to wear it, but a widow sees her and asks her to get rid of her coloured clothes. The widow clutches Ganga's hair and takes her to a barber. The widow asks the barber to make Ganga bald. Ganga keeps on protesting and tells the widows that she would look really ugly without her locks. Somehow Ganga manages to flee and bumps into Niranjan. An innocent Ganga asks Niranjan to save her and tells him that she does not want to lose her hair. Ganga further explains that how he lost father and husband in the stampede.
