Bollywood Drug Nexus: Now, NCB Raids Arjun Rampal’s Mumbai Residence

Mamta Raut . Nov 09, 2020 .

On Monday, Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal’s residence was raided by the Narcotics Bureau Department post the agency raided producer Firoz Nadiadwala’s house.

On Monday, November 9, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) raided Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal’s Bandra residence. Although, the department hasn’t revealed much about their investigation, the raid comes in after the NCB  arrested Agisilaos Demetriades, the brother of Arjun Rampal’s girlfriend, Gabriella. Agisilaos was reportedly linked to the drug probe angle of the untimely death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

This raid was done post the department raided Firoz Nadiadwala’s house on Sunday. The producer’s wife was arrested after marijuana was procured from their residence. “We conducted a major strike in Western Mumbai and Navi Mumbai where we recovered ganja in commercial quantity, Mephedrone and other different drugs. We also intercepted five peddlers and based on that we conducted and recovered some drugs today morning from his house which was supposed to be part of the same seizure,” NCB Mumbai zonal director Sameer Wankhede said.

Now with Arjun Rampal, the result of the investigation is yet awaited. Previously, it was reported by the NCB that Rampal’s girlfriend’s brother was in constant contact with several drug peddlers who provided drugs to Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik. Both of them were previously arrested by the NCB. While Showik is yet under custody, Rhea Chakraborty, after spending a month-long time in jail, was given bail by the Bombay High Court on October 7.

Arjun Rampal isn’t the only actor whose name has been embroiled in the Bollywood drug nexus. Post the untimely death of Sushant Singh Rajput, several chats of prominent celebs were leaked which were in line with NCB’s drug probe. Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh were previously summoned by the NCB when the drug probe in SSR’s case began. However, none of them was arrested.
