Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui Box-Office Collection Day 9: Ayushmann Khurrana-Vaani Kapoor Starrer Moves At A Steady Pace; Spider-Man: No Way Home Affects

As the theatres have reopened and life returned to normal, movies have been facing fierce competition at the box office, vying for a spot and winning box office revenues. Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor in the lead roles, was released on the silver screens on December 10th. T-Series is presenting the film, which is directed by Abhishek Kapoor.

Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui has surpassed the 25 crore milestone at the ticket sales after only 9 days in theatres. Of course, one had high hopes for the movie. However, circumstances are as they are, every landmark, no matter how great or tiny, must be celebrated because every step contributes.

On December 18th, the film grossed another 1.25 crores, totaling 25.11 crores*. A successful day on December 19th may add another 2 crores to the picture’s total, which will be a reasonable evolution for a movie that has remained on the lowest rung of the box office throughout. Yes, it did hold up over the weekdays to some level, but a film starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor needs to do better.

The movie continues to do well in certain metropolitan multiplexes, as it has in the past. Now, this is where the crowd’s word-of-mouth might have aided the case even more. However, due to the disruption of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the movie is squandering a portion of its audiences there too, which is affecting its overall box office revenues.

The plot of the film centers around a fitness fanatic gym trainer and a Zumba instructor who works in her gym. When the lead actor learns that his love interest is a trans woman who was born a male but later had a sex change procedure, the plot twists. The film’s songs are upbeat and heartfelt. They’ve managed to make it onto listeners’ playlists. Ayushmann and Vaani have done their best to portray their roles and give a message through the film, but it does lack something which is not able to attract audiences in large numbers.
