Abhishek Bachchan, the enigmatic actor, celebrates his 45th birthday today. He made his Bollywood (acting) debut in 2000 with a war film directed by JP Dutta. Since then, he has been giving the most brilliant performances in all his films. However, the actor did have a drop in his career for a while but once again he saw a rise in recent times. Abhishek Bachchan, since the earliest years of his career, had established himself as a versatile actor. He excelled in all kinds of roles, whether they were romantic, comic, or action ones. Some of his best performances as a calm and composed romantic guy can be watched in his films ‘Haan, Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya’, where he starred with Akshay Kumar and Karisma Kapoor and ‘Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon’.
During the same time, Abhishek Bachchan also appeared in the romantic-action film, Run. He played the role of Siddharth, a guy who despite being a composed man, could fight off the rowdy goons for the sake of his love. He received a lot of acclaim for his role in Run, opposite Bhumika Chawla. He later appeared in many action films, and he excelled at all those roles. People started loving him in his action films.
In the same year as Run, Abhishek Bachchan became a part of one of India’s biggest film franchise – Dhoom. In the first part of the film, he starred with John Abraham playing the antagonist. Once again, he received praises for his role in this action film. He has portrayed his role as ACP Jay Dikshit, in all the three films of the franchise, with sheer brilliance, depicting the brooding personality.
A year after that, he appeared in two comedy films about con-artists – ‘Bunty Aur Bubbly’ and ‘Bluffmaster’. Both the films had really unique plots and Abhishek’s performance was lauded in both the films. He had a really great run till 2009, where he also appeared in Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and won the Filmfare Award for the Best Supporting Actor for his role in it. He also starred in Dostana, for which, his amazing performance earned him the Filmfare nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
In 2009, Abhishek Bachchan starred in the social drama Delhi-6, which was a big hit, and his performance was also noted down. However, after Delhi-6, he had a minor setback in his career, when some of his films failed at the box office. Abhishek Bachchan also received a lot of criticism for his performances and people did not hold back at those criticisms. The only up in this phase that he saw was when he starred in the Rohit Shetty film, Bol Bachchan, in 2012. Although the movie received mixed reviews, Abhishek Bachchan’s performance was lauded by all. He also received a lot of awards for the role. After that, till 2016, his films again were tagged as blockbuster flops.
Abhishek Bachchan took a 2-years-break from acting and in 2018, he appeared in the Anurag Kashyap directorial, Manmarziyaan. Abhishek Bachchan rose like a phoenix from the ashes of his critical knockouts. The people could not stop praising the film and Abhishek Bachchan’s performance in Manmarziyaan. He earned a lot of love from the audience and people began realising his true potential again. They started looking forward to more of his upcoming works.
Abhishek Bachchan then also made his digital debut with a web-series, the praises for which skyrocketed. The viewers could not stop themselves from listing out the compliments for Abhishek Bachchan’s performance. Since then, he is rumoured to be starring in the biopic of lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi and has also announced the biopic on the big bull of Indian stock market, Harshad Mehta.

Abhishek Bachchan’s career truly went through a roller coaster ride and now he has begun his journey to the top again. His performances have always been good, no matter how the film was, just that the people may have failed to see it.
