Kangana Ranaut & Rangoli Chandel Get Summoned By Mumbai police; FIR Registered

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel, who were quarantined at their hometown of Himachal Pradesh amidst the nationwide shutdown, have now been summoned by Mumbai Police. The FIR was registered against both sisters on Saturday, October 17 and now both the sisters will have to be present before an investigative officer on October 26 and 27.

The Mumbai Police stated that the FIR was registered against the two at the Bandra police station subsequent to an order from a local court. Kangana and Rangoli now face charges of sedition and inflicting enmity between communities on grounds of religion. Kangana Ranaut was quick to respond to the summons generated against her on Twitter.

In her statement released on Twitter, she taunted how Maharashtra government has been missing her too much. She further said, “No worries, I will be there soon”.

The FIR case has been registered under Section 124 A (sedition), 153- A (promoting enmity amongst different communities on grounds of religion, race, language & more) and 295-A of the Indian Penal code. All this comes after Kangana bluntly picked up a fight against several prominent Bollywood stars by blaming the industry for nepotism and discrimination after the untimely death of Sushant Singh Rajput.

The death of the actor left the entire nation in a state of frenzy and Kangana Ranaut blamed the ‘Bollywood mafia’ for his death. She called out many prominent names from the industry. When the drug probe came in the picture, she also revealed how many A-listers have been consuming drugs for many years. Not content with that, Kangana also targeted the Maharashtra government for their poor probe in SSR’s death case.

After the video of Kangana condemning the Mumbai police surfaced online, many rallied against her. Amidst this, the demolition of her office added fuel to the fire. Now, with this FIR, the actor will have to face the same Mumbai Police whom she had been condemning for a long time. On the work front, she is gearing up for the release of her biographical political film Thalaivi directed by AL Vijay. In the film, Kangana will essay the role of late actor and politician Jayalalithaa.
