Zee TV’s Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti has many references or easter eggs for fans to decode its interesting connection with the 1999 Bollywood film Biwi No 1.

Recently, with the new wave content, TV is surpassing the aura of movies. Many TV shows are experimenting with new and interesting concepts. However, the writers and showrunners of the small screens tend to have many references from renowned classic flicks. And they embed their inspiration in conceptual storylines while also paying homage to the original ones. Similarly, Zee TV’s Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti has many references or easter eggs for fans to decode its interesting connection with the 1999 Bollywood film Biwi No 1.

Within no time, KRMKB has garnered massive love from the audience. Fans are able to connect with the on-screen characters and their empathy towards Shubhra (Neha Marda) is endless. However, watching the show has also made us recall some interesting references from Salman Khan’s Biwi No 1. The film is another David Dhawan mainstream drama that is quite popular among the masses.

So, here’s drawing parallels between Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti and the Bollywood film Biwi No 1.

Extramarital Affair

In Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti, Shubhra and Kuldeep had a perfect married life. With two loving kids, the couple’s life was going on the right track. However, their equations changed when Kuldeep fell in love with Samaira. Though in the beginning, he felt guilty for cheating on Shubhra but his love for Samaire overpowered the guilt.

And his extramarital affair began followed by a series of lies and cooked-up stories. And that’s something we have seen in Biwi No 1 where Salman’s character Prem cheats on his Pooja (Karisma Kapoor).

Innocent Wife

Shubhra is a young married woman and a mother of two who hailed from a conservative Maharashtrian family. However, going against her family she married a Punjabi boy Kuldeep. And now after 10 years of their marriage, personal conflicts over mere things have started affecting their relationship. But Shubhra, being a dutiful wife, has stuck to her man despite him cheating on her.

Just like Biwi No 1’s Pooja, Shubhra is an emotional person who struggles to keep her family close and together.

Gorgeous Girlfriend

Samaira’s character in Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti has grey shades. However, Kuldeep fell head over heels in love with Samaira’s beauty. Quite on the similar lines of Biwi No 1 wherein Salman’s Prem falls in love with a model Rupali (Sen). And hence, the affair in both these stories has a common play which is infused with a ‘gorgeous girlfriend’.

The Bond Between Kids And Mother

One most important and heartwarming ‘art parallel’ between Riston Mein Katti Batti and Biwi No 1 is the concerned kids. In the TV drama, there’s Rishi and Roli who are seen forging plans to reunite their parents. And this is something we have seen in the film with the sibling duo Rinku and Pinky.  Also, the one thing that the audience loved is the realistic bond between these kids and Shubhra.

Samaira Mirrors Rupali (Sushmita Sen)

After knowing about Kuldeep’s married life and his falling relationship with Shubhra, Samaira agrees to look after the kids (after she’s challenged by his mother, much like in Karisma’s case). And her experience with Rishi and Roli gets no less than a pain. Also, her way to look after the kids was quite similar to that of Rupali in Biwi No 1. In a way, Samaira almost is a mirror to Rupali.

So, these were some interesting parallels between Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti and Biwi No 1.
