Many of us like to think of GP as a TV star for his presence on many hit shows, but the actor made his debut in movies. Govind Padmasoorya’s debut film Atayalangal directed by Aravind Venugopal also received four Kerala State Film Awards. GP fetched back to back commercial hits in Malayalam movies after his first appearance in 2008.

GP on the other hand came into the spotlight starring alongside some of the industry greats like Suresh Gopi and Mammootty. GP’s character Sreekant in the Malayalam movie Daddy Cool along with Mammootty announced his presence in the industry.

Govind Padmasoorya soon became known in the industry as GP, a nickname received during his show hosting career. With his unique style of hosting TV shows, the quirky youngster became the most recognisable face on TV. He even won the Kerala State Television Awards in 2016 and 2017, a rare feat, for being the best anchor in the industry!

GP went back to chasing hits in the industry with his recent hits in Tamil and Telugu. His Tamil debut in 2019 was with the movie Kee, while the youngster starred alongside superstar Allu Arjun in the Telugu movie Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo this year.
