As we all know by now, Weekend With Ramesh is much more than a chat show. It is an informative show for Kannada fans where the host, veteran actor Ramesh Aravind connects fans to their favourite celebrities and real-life achievers. He narrates their whole life in the form of a story to the audience and entertaining us by bringing close members of the guests on stage. After the fourth season ended, we still didn’t want to say goodbye, so today we will look at 12 of our favourite guests, that came as guests this season on Weekend With Ramesh. 

Starting with Padma Bhushan Veerendra Heggade. He was the first guest of the fourth season on Weekend With Ramesh. A little about the esteemed guest, he is the 21st Dharmadhikari (hereditary administrator) of the Dharmasthala Temple in the state of Karnataka. Awards like Karnataka Ratna, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan, are all in his pocket.

Shivanna’s younger brother is the next guest who is our favourite. On the show, the actor revealed the reason he decided to make a comeback into Sandalwood. And how many films you may ask? It’s not one, not two but four films that he is working on this year, two of which have already released while the other two are still in the filming stage. A great fact about Dr Rajkumar’s son is that his year his first film, Ammana Mane, was dedicated to his beloved mother Parvathamma Rajkumar.

Also, in an interview with a leading media daily, the actor spoke about how he dealt with his illness. “When I was paralyzed, I thought my career had ended, and all the paths were closed. I was so happy when director Nikhil Manju offered this movie,” he said. He further added, “Acting is also a therapy, I have forgotten that I am a patient, my daily routine is completely changed, which include makeup and appearing in front of the cameras. I’m taking some responsibility, and I want to work honestly.”

Films with an artistic appeal to mainstream feature films, Vinaya Prasad has aced it all and that too very gracefully!  Including, Sahasa Simha Vishnuvardhan, Rebel Star Ambareesh and Ananth Nag, the evergreen actress has worked with all top names in the Sandalwood industry. Her career spans over 60 films and 20 TV serials. The ever-beautiful actress plays the important role of Arasane Koteya Akhilandeshwari on Zee Kannada’s show Paaru. On the chat show, her daughter Prathama Prasad aka Janaki from the hit show Bramhagantu came on the show and spoke extremely fondly about her mother too.

The Roaring Star of Sandalwood, Sriimurali, is such a gentleman in real life. I learnt this about him only after watching the weekend in which he took the red seat. From his close friends to family members, Sriimurali was so happy to see the makers of the show, bringing together his overall family, his parents, children and wife included.  When you watch these episodes, you will find out about his low and high times throughout his life. Through all this, the Roaring Star gave credit to his family who acted as his rock-solid support, especially his father.

To be honest, once you watch Sudha Ma’am’s episode, you will realise that in building Infosys, there was as much contribution from her, if not more than that of Mr Murthy’s. Had she not stood behind him as his rock-solid support, the company would have not been where it is today.

The late Rebel Star Ambareesh’s wife Sumalatha was next on the show and on our list. One of Sandalwood’s most humble evergreen actresses, for those of you who don’t know, Sumalatha Ma’am recently won the Mandya elections and thus is able to continue her husband’s legacy. Her journey on the red seat was not only with some emotional moments but thanks to her young lad Abishek Ambareesh, she had some happy moments too. Apart from this, she revealed some never-heard-before facts from her life including the time when she lost her best friend, the Rebel Star Ambareesh at the end of last year 2018.

The veteran actor in a supporting role, T S Nagabharana was one of our favourite guests. Firstly, because he was a part of the mega-blockbuster film KGF: Chapter 1, and secondly because you must have seen him on the hit show Bramhagantu playing the character of Narasimha. Another reason why we love him is because of the fact that he is the first pioneer of parallel cinema in Sandalwood.

Sharan Hruday rose to fame with his 2012 blockbuster film Rambo. And since then the actor has seldom done any more supporting roles. The main reason being Rambo, his 100th film, gave the opportunity to him to become a lead actor after he did 99 films in a supporting role. Its sequel, Raambo 2, was the next blockbuster film with songs like Chuttu Chuttu, having crossed over 80 million views on YouTube.

BB Ashok Kumar (also known as Tiger Ashok Kumar), retired Assistant Commissioner of Police, Karnataka, is one of the most valued guests on Weekend With Ramesh because the exceptional officer has done more good to the community alongside Shankar Bidari, the last guest that we were thrilled to have on the red seat. During his time on the show, the civil-hero told the audience and viewers about his childhood as well as shared some interesting crime cases that he came across in his career.

The retired Director General and Inspector General of Police (Dg & IGP), Karnataka, Shankar Bidari, is another civil-hero, who made it to our favourite list. Why you may ask? It’s only because of the immense hard work and planning that he put in to capture the notorious gangster, Veerappan. Shankar Bidari was the one leading the teams to make the arrest and after the loss of many lives, he and his team or whatever were left of them were successful.
