SCOOP: Kareena Kapoor Khan Charging 12 Crores To Essay Sita In Alaukik Desai’s Next!

Bollywood has an array of historical fiction films in the making. One of these is Alaukik Desai’s film Sita which is slated to be a re-telling of the epic, Ramayana but from Sita’s point of view. Alaukik Desai is a writer, producer and director who is looking to cast a top actress for his mythological drama and contacted Kareena Kapoor Khan among others for the role of Sita. Apparently, the actress has asked for a fee of 12 crore rupees for the role!

The actress has several films including Veere Di Wedding 2 and Hansal Mehta’s untitled film in her kitty and will find it extremely difficult to find the dates to shoot for Sita, hence she is demanding a higher sum of money for the role. According to reports, the film requires around 8-10 months of work which is also a reason for her higher demand. Usually, it is said that Kareena Kapoor Khan takes 6-8 crores for a film.

Kareena Kapoor Khan welcomed her second son on February 21, 2021, with her husband Saif Ali Khan. She has another son, Taimur with him. This mother-of-two has been working on many films and campaigns and was active even during her pregnancy! She has been proving that actresses can be A-listers even after they marry and become mothers.

It is yet to be known whether Kareena Kapoor Khan will play Sita. She was last seen in films like Good Newwz and Angrezi Medium before the pandemic. During the pandemic, she also shot for Laal Singh Chaddha with Aamir Khan which is an adaptation of the classic, Forrest Gump. Another historical film she is set to star in is Karan Johar’s multi-starrer, Takht, which is said to be a magnum opus film.
