SSR Case: Bombay HC To Hear Rhea Chakraborty’s Bail Plea Today

The Bombay High Court will hear the bail application of actress Rhea Chakraborty the prime accused and former partner of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, today (September 29). She has been lodged in Byculla jail after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested her for procuring drugs through her brother Showik Chakraborty and supplying them to Sushant Singh Rajput. The Chakraborty siblings have been booked by the NCB under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The probe into the drugs angle of the Rajput death case led the bureau to the discovery of several “linkages” or drug supply networks, an NCB official said. The NCB is probing the drugs case related to SSR’s death as well as alleged nexus between Bollywood and drug peddlers. Showik Chakraborty had accepted during his interrogation that he used to procure weed and bud through drug peddlers and pass them on to his sister Rhea Chakraborty who gave it to Sushant Singh Rajput.
