Travis Scott, has a history of staging violent and dangerous performances, which has resulted in him being jailed twice and being sued. The Astroworld music festival this past weekend ended in disaster, but it appears that this isn’t the first time the 30-year-old rapper’s gigs have gone wrong.

The Astroworld event on Friday claimed the lives of eight individuals and wounded hundreds more. Around 9:15 p.m. on Nov. 5, around 50,000 fans rushed toward the stage at NRG Park in Travis’ hometown of Houston. The audience began to swell near the front of the stage, and many became agitated.

Several individuals, including a security officer, were badly hurt during the “Goosebumps” performer’s act at an Arkansas music festival in 2017, prompting authorities to accuse him of instigating a riot. According to Billboard, Travis ended up pleading guilty to disorderly conduct, narrowly avoiding more severe penalties.

After Travis urged fans to dive into the audience at one of his gigs in New York City, a 23-year-old fan was partially paralysed after being pushed off a third-story balcony. Kyle Green, the wounded fan, told The Washington Post at the time, “I was in a lot of agony.” “I just laid there till an ambulance arrived.”

However, in recent years, those heightened emotions have gone out of hand, with this weekend’s tragedy already resulting in three lawsuits as of Monday, Nov. 8, and more likely on the way.

Travis Scott’s history of reckless behavior during his performances has been revealed in previous reports, with instances leading to the rapper’s arrest and lawsuit on two occasions.
