Watch: Throwback To When Karan Johar Called Anushka Sharma ‘Desh Ki Bahu’!

In 2018, Karan Johar was judging a show, India’s Got Talent 8 when Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma graced the stage with their presence. They were promoting their film Zero which also starred Shah Rukh Khan! It is no secret that Karan Johar is good friends with both the actresses and decided to interact with them with his own rapid-fire and this time it was related to Shah Rukh Khan! Since both actresses are big SRK fans, Karan Johar decided to quiz them!

One of the questions was to name the song which has the lines, “Behki hai nigahein aur bikhrein hai baal,” to which Katrina promptly answered, “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’s Koi Mil Gaya.” Meanwhile, Anushka could not remember the name of the song and had to sing to lines in order to remember. For the next question, Anushka started to sing before Katrina could answer and won the round! Katrina complained that she didn’t get enough time and Anushka replied saying, “Maine mauke pe chauka mardiya.”

Karan Johar was quick to catch the word “chauka” as it means 4 runs in cricket! He made the instant connection between the word and Anushka’s husband, Virat Kohli and said, “Itni badi ho gayi hai meri beti, cricket ke jokes crack karne lagi hai. Aap toh desh ki bahu hai, hum kuch keh bhi nahi sakte.”

This definitely earned him a lot of laughs! Anushka Sharma married Indian Cricket Captain Virat Kohli in December 2017. In January 2021, they welcomed their first daughter, Vamika into the world! While Virat continued playing, Anushka has taken a bit of a break from acting after Zero. But she has been working as a producer with her brother under the banner, Clean Slate Filmz and has come out with really great content on streaming platforms.
