He also made it clear in the interaction that he had already applied for an Indian passport and was waiting for it to arrive so that he could shun the people who had a problem with it. The actor stated that just because he has a Canadian passport, it does not make him any less patriotic or Indian than he already is.

Akshay Kumar seemed quite upset that people are asked for a document if they wish to prove their love for the country. He was of the stance that people brought it up unnecessarily, which is why he applied for the Indian passport as he did not wish to give them a baseless point to pick on. He said that he got the passport made because he was thinking of going abroad and working there, with a close friend. He revealed that this was a low point in his life as most of his films failed and he was thinking of quitting acting altogether. However, his next film worked well and he decided to stay back and continue in the field.
