From the first episode of Zee Marathi’s Majha Hoshil Na we have seen Sai to be opinionated, strong and a girl with some agency. She has the love and respect of her father and does what she likes. She might not be completely traditional and prim and proper, but her modern sensibilities do not stop her from being good to others and being lovable. She has a very intelligent brain and can come up with all kinds of solutions to problems too! This Women’s Day, take a look at some of the instances that proved that our Raatrani has truly grown up into a mature and stronger woman!
When Sai stood up to Sharmila
Sharmila hates the Brahmes and she especially does not like the fact that Sai married into a poor family whose living conditions do not match Sharmila’s taste. When Sharmila openly insults the Brahmes time and time again, speaks rudely to her son-in-law Aditya as well, Sai decides that enough is enough. She confronts her mother and replies back t everything Sharmila says against the brahmes. Sai called her out on her behaviour and warns her to not even look at “her family” ever again.
She also tells Dada mama and the rest of the brothers that is not good to stay silent if the insults are too hurtful. We love how she stands up for herself and her family and gives it back to her arrogant mother!
When Sai asked Sindhu to leave
Sindhu Vahini shows up at the Brahme house for Aditya and Sai’s wedding and makes interruptions with words that hurt the Brahmes. Sai very respectfully listens to her. After all the wedding rituals are almost done, Sai seeks Sindhu’s blessing which leaves her surprised. After that, for the Sunmukh ritual, Sindhu begins to move towards the house. That is when Sai stops her and tells her that she only sought her blessings because she older than Sai in age and nothing else.
That action did not mean that Sai would accept Sindhu as her mother-in-law. She respectfully asks her to leave and this makes the Brahmes really happy. This moment also shows how Sai has matured as she calmly handled the situation.
When she breaks off her engagement with Suyash
At the kelvan in Aditya’s house that Meghana plans, Suyash reveals to everyone that it was Aditya who taught him how to behave and what to say so that he could woo Sai and get married to her. On learning this, Sai gets extremely angry and feels like she has been toyed with.
She thinks that Aditya rejects her and then convinces Suyash to marry her, and this makes her feel so angry that she asks Aditya to never show his face to her ever again. Later that day she even goes to Suyash’s house and throws the engagement ring at his face and berates him!
We think that Sai’s anger was justified and she stood up for herself in this episode very well!
All the times Sai confessed to Aditya
We don’t often see women making the first move in our country, let alone on TV shows. But Sai has been one of those women who are confident and not as shy. She knows what she wants and will put the effort into it.
She might have not said it in those exact words, but she has told Aditya that she loved him before she decided to accept Suyash’s proposal. She also only accepted the proposal because she was tired of Aditya’s rejections!
When she agreed to marry Suyash
When Suyash blackmailed her with Shashikant’s arrest, only then Sai agreed to marry Suyash. Sai cares for her father immensely and agreed to marry him to save her father. This sacrifice takes a strong will and a lot of maturity on Sai’s part. Sai was silent about her pain because she was mature and though was a little helpless, her sacrifice was commendable because it was because of love!
From the loud, honest and strong college-going girl to the lovable, kind and strong-willed, family-oriented Sai, this has been a wild journey! We cannot wait to watch more of her story.
