With Kumkum Bhagya completing 7 long years, here’s why we think the show should go off-air and return with a prequel instead.

Kumkum Bhagya has been entertaining us for seven years now. The show first began airing on April 15, 2015, and has been entertaining its fans ever since. While Abhi (Shabir Ahluwalia) and Pragya (Sriti Jha) have kept us occupied with their dramatic lives and romance, of course, we often find ourselves wondering if the show should end now. These characters have probably experienced all the emotions and have seen it all. While we would like to see it end, we’d also request makers to plan a prequel around it. A prequel around Pragya’s early life and Abhi’s rockstar days would be an interesting watch, we feel.

So as Kumkum Bhagya clocks seven years on April 15, 2021, we name seven reasons why the show should end and return with a prequel instead. Have a look.

Abhi and Pragya have been apart for a long now

Abhi and Pragya have been apart for a long now and we all want to see them together. While we saw them together, however, they never really had a happy life. Now that it has been seven years, we want them to enjoy a happily ever after sans any hiccups.

Reunion of Abhi’s family can be the perfect end

Abhi’s family has been apart since the show took a leap and their reunion will totally change the dynamics in the show. A happy family with Abhi, Pragya, Prachi (Mugdha Chaphekar), and Rhea (Pooja Banerjee) living together without holding any grudges against each other is the ultimate dream for any Kumkum Bhagya fan. Now with Tanu (Leena Jumani) accusing Abhi of rape, there are chances that his family will come together to fight her evil plan. This would make the storyline more interesting and not to forget, a special episode for their grand reunion is much awaited. This could also be a fitting end to the show.

 Aliya can change for good

Aliya (Reyhna Pandit) has been creating a lot of problems for Abhi and Pragya since the start of the show. We are done seeing our dearest #AbhiGya suffer because of Aliya’s evil plans. Instead, it would be better if she stops creating problems. A change of heart and a realization that she is wrong would totally change the storyline of Kumkum Bhagya. If Aliya decides to leave aside her grudges, this show can get a beautiful end and we might as well witness her good side in the prequel. The prequel can give us an insight into how good she was as a sister before she developed a hatred for Pragya.

Pragya and Bulbul once again

While we have seen their dynamics in the earlier episodes of the show, it would be interesting to see it once again. The prequel can focus on Pragya and Bulbul’s relationship and how the sisters led a happy, carefree life with Sarla before they met the Mehras.

We need another romantic pair

After Pragya-Abhi and Prachi-Ranbir, we need a new romantic pair to root for. The prequel can either have the same characters or someone younger with fresh chemistry. Of course, they’ll have tough shoes to fill in but if the casting is right, they should manage just fine.

More than 1800 episodes

Kumkum Bhagya has so far completed over 1823 episodes and it’s enough, isn’t it? Post Abhi’s jail incident, the makers should end the show and start planning a prequel around it meanwhile. Let the audience bid adieu to these characters and meet some new faces that will amp up their excitement once again.

Kundali Bhagya was a hit

Kundali Bhagya starring Shraddha Arya and Dheeraj Dhoopar was a spin-off of Kumkum Bhagya and is currently ruling the TRP charts. So if a spin-off can attract such positive reactions, we see no reason why a prequel wouldn’t.
