The bail pleas of actor Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty in the drugs case that had popped up in the investigation into the death of Sushant Singh Rajput will be heard by the Bombay High Court today. Their bail applications were supposed to be heard by the court on Wednesday but that was delayed due to heavy rains that had lashed the city of Mumbai overnight. Justice Sarang Kotwal will be hearing the bail applications of the two who stand accused of providing drugs to Sushant.
Rhea is currently lodged in Byculla women’s prison. Her 14-day judicial custody ended on Tuesday. Yesterday, her lawyer Satish Maneshinde shared a statement and revealed details about the postponement of the bail applications. The statement read, “Chief Justice has declared holiday today for Bombay high court and today’s board will be taken up tomorrow i.e. 24th Sept.” A few others, including Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda and his housekeeper Dipesh Sawant are also in custody right now.
