Paurashpur: Shilpa Shinde Explains Why She Feels Like A ‘Queen’ On The Sets Of Her ZEE5 Series

Television personality and actress Shilpa Shinde who will be next seen in ZEE5’s upcoming period drama Paurashpur, recently took to Instagram to express her gratitude towards the show’s art director Nitin Chandrakant Desai. She thanked him for making her feel like a true ‘rani’ and for making a ‘Zameen par swarg‘ (heaven on the Earth) kind of set. She will be seen essaying the role of a scheming queen Meerwati in the period drama.

In the short video shared by Shilpa, she said that she feels like a true rani on the sets of Paurashpur. “While standing at the set of Paurashpur, I would truly feel like a maharani. Even if I would have been cast to play the role of a daasi, I would have still felt like a queen because of the beautiful set” she said.
She also mentioned how ‘others did everything else’ (for Puarashpur) but she did the web series only for her fans. She further credited the ‘captain of the ship’ Sachindra Vats for directing this beautiful period drama. Watch the clip of Shilpa Shinde talking about Paurashpur below:

While sharing a small anecdote of her shooting experience in the video, she mentioned how Sachindra Vats would ask her to ‘feel’ while acting. She said “Sachindra ji would ask me not to act a lot because I’m a daily soap artist and I would give about 50 different expressions. He would say this isn’t a comedy series, please feel from within Shilpa”

Paurashpur is an original ZEE5 web series that also stars Milind Soman, Annu Kapoor, Shaheer Sheikh, Poulomi Das, and others in lead roles. Set in the 17th century, the period drama is based on a patriarchal kingdom. It revolves around gender politics, political conspiracies, revenge, and human greed that ultimately decides the fate of Paurashpur. It is all set to premiere on December 29, 2020, only on ZEE5.
