Watch: Anurag Kashyap’s Inspiring Story From Rags To Riches

Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap is one of the most critically-acclaimed artists of the Indian film industry. He has delivered various fan-favourite films like Raman Raghav 2.0 and Manmarziyaan, amongst others. In an unseen clip of the filmmaker, he can be seen speaking about his journey so far and how he managed to make it big without any direct link with the film industry. He narrated the story of his Production banner, Anurag Kashyap Films Pvt Ltd. He revealed that he only started the company and the people around him, pushed it ahead, making it easy for him. He also spoke about his struggles before the film Dev D as most of his movies did not work well at the box office until then.

Bollywood director and producer Anurag Kashyap has always been in the news for his bold creative choices and unique style of storytelling. In the short interaction attached above, he can be seen speaking about his journey in Bollywood and how difficult it has been for him. He revealed that he moved to Mumbai at a very young age and it was mainly possible due to his risk-taking attitude. He said that he was too innocent and was not even concerned about what he would eat or where he would live. He made a quick decision and decided to stick by it. He stated that he does not think too much before doing something and is a go-getter in many ways.

Anurag Kashyap revealed that there was a point in his life when he would do anything for anyone. He did not care about the credits or the money that would come out of it. He would simply do it for the love of the craft and did not mind taking up petty jobs either. He mentioned that there have been various scripts and films which did not give him the due credit or the money for the work.

In one segment of the video, Anurag Kashyap has revealed that he did not charge any money for directing Dev D as he simply wanted the film to release. He waved off his fees and asked the makers to pay only if the film made money at the box office. The film went on to do well at the box office and the money that came from it was eventually invested in Anurag Kashyap Films Pvt Ltd.
