A Table For Two Season 2 Ep 5: Neha Sharma-Namit Das Get Candid About Life, Struggles And Aafat-e-Ishq

To begin the episode of A Table for Two season 2, Ira Dubey introduced the actors Namit Das and Neha Sharma and spoke about some of their major projects. She mentioned that Namit’s family has a vast musical background. The duo spoke about how they decided to pursue acting as a career. Neha also revealed that the two are working together in their upcoming ZEE5 film, Aafat e Ishq.

When Ira Dubey asked about how he decided to choose acting as a career, Namit mentioned that he always wanted to be a musician but never achieved anything in college. To give it a try, he started doing theatre and before he knew he was a part of company theatre. He made his debut as an actor in a mockumentary called President is Coming which also starred Ira herself. Neha on the other hand mentioned that she bagged the role in a Telugu film titled Chirutha in 2007. She suited the role of Sanjana who was a brat. Neha mentioned that she loved the experience of working on the set. Neha was extremely courageous to take up a film that wasn’t in her language. She took a two-year break after that but decided to return as she missed working on the set.

Ira then asked them about what do they do on their day-offs. Neha sleeps, eats, spends time with her family and plays with her dog. And Namit on the other hand shared a hilarious story. He had a fight with his wife a year ago. His wife asked him to remove all his records as it took up a lot of space. She asked him to chose her or his records. Nimit added that he chose his records and regretted. So he decided to make a space for himself and placed his records there. On his day-offs, he spends the day in that space listening to music.

While talking about the digital revolution, Neha said that it has changed the perspective of films. Because of OTT, the films are not just about box office collection but also about the actors. She mentioned that the auditioning actors get a fair chance because of OTT platforms. Namit said that because of OTT platforms, there is more scope in storytelling. Actors are more outgoing and because of that, they are more comfortable with each other.

Neha spoke about her upcoming work. She will also be seen alongside Namit in Aafat-E-Ishq. She added that she had fun shooting with him and is looking forward to its release. The film has a special place in her heart because of the script.

Ira also asked them about their struggles in their acting career. Namit was rejected for his first film because he was termed ‘too dark’. Neha said that her sister was never looked upon because the audience thought that she was Neha’s sister and she entered the film industry because of Neha. They also said that there was a phase in their lives where they did not get work at all. In the end, Namit lightened up the mood by singing a song dedicated to his grandmother. The episode ended on a sweet note as the two of them wished great things for each other.
