Owing to the coronavirus pandemic, Ravi took an extra step towards ensuring the meat stays clean and healthy by marinating it in turmeric powder and ginger garlic paste. You can do the same and allow it to sit for a few minutes.
Next, marinate the chicken well with a spoon of all-purpose flour, some cornflour, salt and one egg. Allow it to marinate well for at least 20 minutes, or up until 45 minutes.
Now, take a pan and add enough oil for deep frying. Once the oil starts heating up, drop the marinated chicken pieces into it slowly. Cook the pieces well and take it out in a separate bowl.
Take a new pan to make the ‘chilli’ part of this chicken. Start by chopping ginger and garlic into small cubes and add them to the pan. Now add onions and keep stirring until it changes colour. Add capsicum and wait until it cooks perfectly.
To prepare the sauce, start by adding soy sauce with a spoonful of vinegar. Add ketchup according to how sweet or tangy you prefer it to be. Add cornflour and some water. Mix everything well and then drop in a dash of pepper powder and chilli powder to give it the much wanted spicy kick.
Finally, drop the fried chicken pieces into it and give it a good stir. Cover the pan with a lid and allow everything to settle together for a few minutes. Take it out in a serving bowl and garnish it with some chopped coriander and spring onion before serving it.
