The upcoming ZEE5 Original film, Lahore Confidential, starring Richa Chadha, Arunoday Singh, Karishma Tanna in lead roles, is all set to release on December 11. The movie will chronicle the tale of two lovebirds- Ananya and Rauf (Richa and Arunoday), who meet during a mission and fall in love. However, Rauf from Pakistan’s muddling moves leaves Ananya from India, puzzled. The film will dive into the Pakistani culture and will take you on an emotional yet gripping ride. While Lahore Confidential will release soon, here’s a look at some shows and movies that give a glimpse of the Pakistani culture.

1. Churails
Churails, starring Sarwat Gilani, Yasra Rizvi, Mehar Bano, Omair Rana, Nimra Bucha in lead roles, follows the story of an inappropriate gesture that takes place at a boutique in Karachi, that sells burqas. The 10-episode series, that is being streamed on ZEE5, takes you into the plush as well as the quaint areas of Pakistan, depicting the story of righteous women, who decide to get into any lengths, to clear up the dirt.

2. Rukhsaar
Rukhsaar stars Agha Ali, Shahryar Zaidi and Mohsin Gilani in lead roles. The show entails the emotional story of a young woman, who gets engaged to a guileful man, who in turn, tries to overpower her. After several arguments, the woman leaves the house with dignity and pride. Rukhsaar (Sumbul Iqbal) was also accused of having a relationship with her cousin. This show entails the story of the ups-and-downs that take place in big families.

3. Main Abdul Qadir Hoon
Starring Fahad Mustafa, Saba Hameed, Sana Askari in lead roles, Main Abdul Qadir Hoon, follows the story of a young boy, Abdul Qadir (Fahad Mustafa), who leaves Pakistan and jets off to London, leaving Meera (Saba) shattered. Her health starts deteriorating after his move. Abdul meets Zareen Khan Afridi (Alishba Yousuf) and then welcomes a new problem in his life. Soon, he realises that there’s no big love and no big comfort than that of his family and his own country.

Written by Umera Ahmed and helmed by Mehraan Jabbar, the Bilal Abbas-Madiha Imam starrer on ZEE5 is a lighthearted show that boasts on one of the aspects in the Pakistani society- the family’s obsession towards marriages. The show will take you to the world of economic complexities, improbable marriage expectations, and the benefits enjoyed by the ‘son’ of the house.

5. Ishq Gumshuda
Directed by Haissam Hussain and written by Noor-ul-Hada Shah, Ishq Gumshuda follows the story of childhood friends, Ali (Hamayun Saeed), Alizeh (Sarwat Gillani) and Neha (Aamina Sheikh). They have a special connection as somewhere their parents are blood-related. While the entire family wants Ali and Alizeh to get married, they get entangled in their confusion and then the twist in the tale comes to light.
